Who You Gonna Call?
This past year was a doozy!
I can honestly say my sisters kept me together.
The calls to check on me.
And being willing to talk on the phone when I needed to talk it out, or making the effort to show up because we needed an in person connection.
Whether we had a relationship for years or they were a new friend, they made time for me.
In my book, Motherhood, Apple Pie and all that Happy Horseshit, I talk about support.
I tell the story of Katie, who was my lifeline after my daughter was born.
She showered me weekly with cinnamon rolls, zinnias, and her probing question, “So how you are doing?”
And then I would say ”fine”, and she would say “No, really.”
That always unleashed a flood of emotion that had been held back with a dam of duct tape.
When I launched the book, I visited with women on the book tour, and I asked them to write down three people they could call on for support in the event of an emergency.
List three people for personal and three people for business, and it cannot include your life partner: because you're going to need them for yourself.
Not surprising in this busy age, people struggled to come up with their three people.
I want to fix that for women in the ecommerce community.
So, I created WEB - Women owned Ecommerce Brands.
It is a mixture of activities including WEB Collab, where we host events online a few times a year for training, and WEB Circles, a monthly mastermind program for small circles of 6 to 8 women to get together and work on their ecommerce business and take care of themselves.
It's wonderful seeing the support they offer each other.
I'm thrilled to be involved in these women building their support system.
If you need to build a support network in your life, reply now.
I want to help get you connected.
