My grandmother used to stop every afternoon to sit down and watch her soap. I remember the narrator saying “like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.”

As entrepreneurs, we feel that pull every day. The hours move fast. The to-do list grows faster.

What I’ve learned after years of building businesses: the days that feel most productive aren’t always the ones where you did the most. They’re the ones where you did the right things. Where you were present in the work that actually matters.

Grounding yourself — even for a few minutes each morning — changes how the rest of the day flows. It’s not a luxury. For a business owner, it’s a practice that pays dividends in clarity and decision-making.
