When the Cash Runway is sooo short
Most of our clients come to us when they are desperate to fix their cash flow problem.
While we do love a good challenge, we have very few tools that work the magic needed when your cash is running out next week.
A two-week runway is not typically going to be solved by a sale or a quick revenue hit.
Past actions have created so much debt that your revenue set point has to be changed, and that takes months not weeks.
In these cases, we get aggressive about expenses because that is one of the only levers we can pull.
And yes, it’s painful.
It’s hard to ask people to take a vacation at the time you choose, or to talk about cut back employee hours.
It's just a matter of fact, that unless you have capital ready to invest, you have to live within the revenue you bring in.
Good margins really help to weather the storm but debt, bad inventory terms, and tying up cash into poor performers, all eat away at those margins and restrict your access to cash.
So if you’re struggling and wondering when to get help, the answer is sooner rather than later.
There is nothing to be ashamed of if your cash is feeling tight.
