The 3 Hidden Costs Killing Your Ecommerce Profits

May 15, 20261 min read

I want to share something I've been working on.

For the past several months I've been analyzing the financials of ecommerce brands doing one million to seventeen million dollars in revenue.

The data sorted into three groups: Struggling, Healthy, and Thriving.

What determined which group a business landed in wasn't revenue size.

It was structure.

Specifically, three costs that come out of every revenue dollar before you have a choice: marketplace fees, debt service, and advertising capacity.

The businesses that are thriving have figured out how to manage all three.

The ones that are stuck, often without realizing it, haven't.

Here's the part that stays with me.

In a separate survey, 54% of ecommerce owners said their business was healthy. But 72% of those same people said the business doesn't provide sufficient income.

And 49% said they rely on debt or credit cards to operate.

This tells me that people think they're doing great overall, but when they actually dig in, they're struggling more than they realize.

I put all of what I learned into an easy to read report, complete with charts to help you understand where you're at now, and where you could be with a few changes.

The data, the patterns, the constraints, and a clear sequence of steps based on where your business actually stands, it's all in there.

Some of your fellow ecom owners have already received the report and I'd love for you to have it too.

If you'd like a copy, reply with the words "triple threat" and I'll send it over so you can get started!
