Email Construction Ahead
The last couple months I have really focused on email.
We made a big switch with our CRM for bookskeep, as you probably know, and a huge part of that was switching over our email list.
I'm so thankful that so many of you read my emails.
Our open rate is over 60%.
This is a point of pride for me, and I appreciate your participation.
I love hearing back from you.
Right before the big switch, we couldn't get our new subdomain to verify with the domain provider.
Our marketing team tried.
We tried tech support with the domain provider; they sent us to a third party integration team with their firm.
That whole week, we hit roadblocks.
So, we went back to our marketing team and we tried again.
Again dead ends.
So we took our problem to the brilliant Jake Talbert with Sixth Division.
He said "Maybe the subdomain word you chose, 'email', is confusing the system because the word “email” exists in some of its own values."
I'm no programmer but I know how using a word repeatedly to mean different things can be confusing.
So we tried again using “contact” instead, and it worked perfectly.
We got everything moved over and made the transition and, luckily, our emails continued to send without issue.
But have no fear, the AI's haven't gotten me. It's the same me, just on a new adventure.
If you miss me?
Please check your spam folder.
A quick reply will help me convince the Internet gods that I am real and that you want to hear from me again.
You can even go as far as marking me a "safe sender" if you feel generous!
The actual moral to this story is if at first you don't succeed, try, try again - and have a great team around you.
Between Makenzie, our Marketing Associate and my assistant, and my team, plus Jake at Sixth Division, we are still moving forward.
