Centering Yourself
Some days I wake up anxious and I have to work to get myself centered around what’s important to me and to my business.
It helps me to do my morning routine.
I start out with journaling.
I have a tapping practice (Emotional Freedom Technique) that grounds me and then I take to my paints.
Today I was playing with some new alcohol markers that I really love.
I was thrilled with the definition that I achieved with my watercolor markers on top of the more fluid base of watercolor.
The last step in my routine is walking the dogs down the mountain.
I always have my phone because I love getting pictures of the flowers, mushrooms, and the beautiful mountains.
These pictures are often the subject of my painting the next day.
Focusing on things that center me calms me down and clears my mind.
The art and tapping practices are an incredible combination and with that grateful heart I set out with the dogs into the beautiful mountain path and clean air.
With all that tension released, it’s easy to appreciate all the beauty around me.
The true benefit though, is I do better work and I am more creative in problem solving when I am not in a reacting, anxious mode.
