Amazon’s Cash Grab Postponed Email
I was relieved this week, as I’m sure you were, to learn that Amazon was backing off the change in payment methods originally set for April 15.
Some correspondence I've seen shows that if you got the email, they are postponing the change until August 1.
Thankfully they listened to the complaints.

They also seemed to acknowledge that it wasn’t going to be effective for everyone.
I've heard several different stories, these included:
this applies to everyone on 4/15/2026 – now 8/1/2026
it's being rolled out in stages
you can ask Amazon to invoice you – if that option shows up in Seller Central
it won't apply to everyone.
Whatever the truth is, at least for now, you have a few months to prepare.
When this change hits, you lose your float on advertising, and the impact is compounded by two other changes - DD +7, where you must wait on cash for an extra week, and fuel surcharge fees, which begin April 17th.
The fuel surcharge fees set for 3.5% applied to the fulfillment fees.
As I said in a previous email, being an Amazon only business is like being the frog in the metaphor of "boiling the frog".
Most of you have already felt the impact of DD+7.
Now you have to swallow the fuel surcharge which is estimated to be approximately $0.17 per unit for FBA in the US.
And for some it looks like they will increase the heat in August and change the Ad Spend Policy too.
Never has it been so important to have a weekly cash flow plan.
It doesn't change the cash impact, but it will help you understand how you can prepare for the next challenge.
Our clients are frustrated because so much is out of their control and they don't have their cash planned out in advance.
Not knowing the impact of these policy changes on cash and also believing there is nothing that can be done robs you of the Peace of Mind you could have if you had a cash flow plan.
The plan doesn't solve all the issues, but it does show you where they are and when they're going to impact you.
It takes away the fear of “this going to be the thing that does me in.”
We give you clear actions to take to minimize the impacts and shore up in other areas of the business as well.
One client recently said, “it may sound cliché, but I sleep better at night.”
If you are losing sleep because of these fees, schedule a call and we can walk through our CFO Focus program, where we build your custom cash flow plan and maintain it for you each week.

P.S. I'm almost done with an ecommerce special report for Amazon and DTC sellers. If you'd like a copy reply with "triple threat" and I'll add you to the waitlist.
